I'm a self taught abstract painter from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, and I've been painting since spring of 2008. I try to use colors, shapes and textures to create works that represent their own reality, and which allow the viewer to explore and discover on their own, without the constraints of realism imposing a view of what they "should" be seeing. To me, my most successful works are those that result in the greatest number of unique interpretations - my ideal piece would be one in which every single viewer sees something totally different. I don't expect anyone to "understand" my art (since I don't understand it myself), but hope that it can be enjoyed.
Music is a huge part of the creative process for me. When I paint, I usually put on some tunes (Pink Floyd and Red Hot Chili Peppers are two particular favorites to paint to), and allow myself to be guided by the emotions that the music stirs within me.
